What AgentWitch does
AgentWitch shows what your coding assistants cost on every model call, then learns skills from the work you repeat so the next run is shorter and cheaper. It runs on your own computer, and a team of people and assistants can share what it learns through one project. You can start alone, with the free token check, and invite others later.
#The story in one line
Token leaks bring you in. A team that learns, shares and plans on its own is why it stays.
A token is the unit your assistant is billed in. Every model call starts by loading your rules, the skill list and MCP tools, before your assistant reads your message. If that setup is large, you pay for it again and again. That is a token leak.
#What it does for you
- Checks your setup and finds token leaks. It reads the rules, skills and MCP servers your assistants load and shows what each one costs. This is the first step and it is free. It is the entry point, not the whole product.
- Learns skills from work you repeat. A skill is a short, saved way of doing a job. Long sessions get shorter and more exact when an assistant starts from a skill. AgentWitch drafts skills for you and the project uses them on its own. There is no approval step for skills. You can switch one off in its project.
- Remembers lessons. Mistakes and rules learned from earlier runs are kept for the next run, so the same lesson is not paid for twice.
- Connects your team. Invite people and their assistants into a project. They share skills and setups. Private files and run history stay on each person's computer.
- Plans the work. Work lives as tasks on a Board and on a Schedule, so a day's tokens are not all spent at once.
- Is a home for teams that use agents. More will move in over time. This guide describes what works today.
#Words you will see
Home, Skills and Computers are the three entries in the top menu. Your account menu includes Account, Plan and billing, Docs and Sign out.
- Project. One place where your assistants, computers and people work together, usually one code folder. Home lists your projects.
- Computer. A Mac or Linux machine where AgentWitch Local is installed. Your assistants work there, on your own files. The page showing it is called Computers on the website and Computer inside the Mac app.
- AgentWitch Local. The small app that runs on your computer. On a Mac it lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon.
- Assistant. An AI coding assistant such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI. You bring the ones you already use.
- Task. A piece of work you hand to a project. Tasks sit on the Board and the Schedule in the project's Tasks tab.
- Run. One execution of a task. Runs are listed in the project's History tab.
- Skill. A saved, reusable way of doing a job. The Skills page has three tabs: Yours, Shared with your team and From AgentWitch.
- Token leak. Setup that loads on every model call and costs tokens. You find it under the project's Health tab, in Token leaks.
A project page has these tabs: Overview, History, Chat, Tasks, Skills, Knowledge impact and Health.
#What stays on your computer, and what is shared
AgentWitch has two parts. The app on your computer does the work and keeps your private material. The website at www.agentwitch.com shows your projects and connects people.
| Stays on your computer | Kept by the website |
|---|---|
| Your folders, files and repos | Your account: name, email and sign-in details |
| API keys and assistant logins | Your projects: names, members and which computers are connected |
| Run transcripts and the history of runs | Short messages between project members |
| The run memory AgentWitch learned | Skills you chose to share |
| Basic usage numbers, such as tokens used today and your latest scan |
The website does not read your task history and does not sell your data. Removing a computer from your account leaves your project folders and files alone. The Privacy page at www.agentwitch.com/privacy is the full statement, and later chapters of this guide go deeper on sharing and privacy.
#What it costs
The token check is free, and so is the download. Plans and prices are on the Pricing page, linked in the site footer.
#What works today and what does not
- The app runs on a Mac or a Linux desktop. Windows runs it inside WSL. A phone cannot run assistants.
- Everything starts from one computer you control. Sharing with a team comes after that.
- The single-user path is the most complete one. Where a team feature is partial, the chapter on it says so.
