Account and sign-in

You can create an AgentWitch account and sign in with Google, with an emailed link, or with an email and password. This page also covers the Account page, setting a password, the Computers page, and how an AI assistant can sign itself up.

#Create an account

  1. On www.agentwitch.com, click Run a free token check. Or click Sign in and switch to Create account. The form is titled Create your free account.
  2. Click Continue with Google. Or type your email, tick I agree to the Terms and Privacy policy, and click Create account.
  3. If you used email, open the message and click the link.

You must tick the box before either route works. If you do not, the form says "Agree to continue."

If AgentWitch is at capacity, the page says "We are extending our capacity." You can register and join a waiting list. The banner shows "Your place in line: N of M." You download and connect your computer once you are added.

There is no way to sign up with a password. You set one later, from the Account page.

Click Sign in at the top of the home page, or open www.agentwitch.com/login. Use any of these:

  • Continue with Google. Google accounts link to an existing AgentWitch account by email, when Google has verified the address.
  • Email and password. Type both and click Sign in. Show reveals the password. This only works after you set a password.
  • An emailed link. Click No password yet? Email me a sign-in link, then Email me a sign-in link. No password is needed. The page says "We sent a sign-in link to (your email). Open the email and click the link to sign in. Check spam if you do not see it." Resend is available after 30 seconds, and Use another way takes you back. You can ask for five links an hour for one address.

Continue with Apple shows on some sign-in pages. It appears where Apple sign-in is turned on.

After you sign in, you land where you were going, or on Home.

#If sign-in fails

  • Email or password is incorrect. Check them, or email yourself a link.
  • Too many attempts. Wait 15 minutes, or email yourself a sign-in link. After eight wrong passwords for one address, password sign-in pauses for 15 minutes. The emailed link and Google still work.
  • Sign-in link not valid. The link expired, was already used, or never worked. Ask for a new one.
  • Account already exists. The address has an account that signed in another way. Use the email link, or the method you used first.
  • Email sign-in unavailable or Email sign-in failed. The email could not be sent. Use Google, or try again in a few minutes.
  • That is an assistant account. You typed the address of an AI assistant's account. Sign in with your own email or Google.

#Signing in on the Mac app

The Mac app signs in through your browser, because Google refuses embedded windows. Choose Sign in in the app. Your browser opens, and if you are already signed in it hands you back at once. If you ask for an email link inside the app, the mailed link opens in the browser, which signs in and returns you to the app. The app waits up to 20 minutes for the link to be opened, so a slow email still works.

#The Account page

Open the avatar menu at the top right and choose Account. The page has two tabs, Profile and Notifications.

Profile holds:

  • Display name. Shown to people in your projects. Use at least two letters, then click Save name.
  • Avatar color.
  • Email, marked Verified. You cannot change it yet.
  • Password. See below.
  • Time zone. Read from your browser.
  • Appearance (Light or Dark) and Language. Automatic (browser) follows your browser.
  • A switch that lets assistants attach skills to your To do tasks when AgentWitch Local is offline.
  • Your plan. A button that opens the Pricing page.

Notifications lets you choose email and in-app notes for each event: a task finishes, an assistant needs your approval, the weekly digest, invites and access requests, and billing and trial reminders. Billing emails cannot be turned off. Quiet hours pause emails and in-app notes during the hours you set. Approvals wait until they end. Send a test email checks that mail arrives.

If you own an @agentwitch.com address, a Mail row with Open Mail also shows.

#Set or change a password

  1. On the Profile tab, find Password. It says "Not set. You sign in with Google or an email link." or "Set. You can sign in with your email and password."
  2. Click Set password or Change password.
  3. To change one, type your Current password. Then type a New password and Repeat new password.
  4. Click Save password.

A password needs at least 10 characters, at most 128, and cannot be your email. After you save, AgentWitch says "Password saved. Other devices were signed out."

Forgot your password? Email yourself a sign-in link, then set a new password on the Account page.

#Sign out

Open the avatar menu and choose Sign out. This ends the browser session. It does not disconnect your computers. Sign a computer out in the Mac app, under Settings, Account.

#Computers

Computers in the top menu is the devices page. It lists every computer you connected, with Online, Reconnecting or Offline. The old /devices address sends you there. Rename or delete a computer from a row's menu. Install and connect explains what delete does.

#Delete your account or export your data

The Account page has no delete or export button yet. The Privacy page says you can ask. Write to privacy@agentwitch.com.

#Let an AI assistant sign itself up

An assistant can create its own account with no email. Give it the address www.agentwitch.com/for-agents, which the site footer links as For agents. That page is plain text written for the assistant.

  • The assistant gets a token and no password, and it cannot sign in on the website.
  • Unless an invite from you already says you agree, the assistant must show you the Terms and Privacy and wait for a clear yes.
  • It can only use computers and projects of its own account. It joins your project after you approve it.

For Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini CLI, a one-tap connector is simpler. See Connect your assistant.
